简介：TVB曾在94年请金超群班底拍摄《包青天》续集，拍完第五单元滴血红梅后，原本决定再开30集，但此时因制作方卷款潜逃，金超群本人没有拿到制作费用，便上香港索取，无线高层为此大为不满，认为有失颜面。于是双方闹上法庭，金超群扬言如果无线不肯公开承认错误，便要对薄公堂。没有拿到索赔，谁也别想播出《包青天》，于是，云集了港台当家小生花旦的港资台制《包青天》至今仍被无线仓底。之前无线曾在k100节目上向观众承诺将在华视《包青天之五鼠闹东京》单元播毕后播出续集，为不惹口舌之嫌，无线遂立即在香港组织人员开拍港版《包青天》，并高价请来狄龙演出包公。该剧一拍就是80集，共有16个单元。每个单元有充满传奇色彩，而当中发生的奇案都涉及法理与人情，每个主角的背後都藏有一段不为人知的过去。而且因为弃用了台湾制作班底，使得港剧更像一部香港古装涉案剧，少了鬼怪神话因素，彻底将包大人凡人化，因此，该剧一经播出，也获得了不错的收视。
